Tiktok’s Trending Dalgona Coffee VS Normal Cold Coffee

Due to this extended quarantine, people realized that they should focus on practicing their hobbies and learning different skills. People around the globe are finding and experimenting with different things to do at home. Furthermore, social media is their medium of expression in these technologically advanced times.

Most of them started posting updates regarding their daily routines while others posted about the new creative activities they are exploring. Amidst all this, a new trend kicked off on TikTok called “Dalgona Coffee.” This trend continued onto Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

Dalgona Coffee looked so aesthetically pleasing that I decided to try it myself.

How To Make Dalgona Coffee?

Ingredients:

  • 1 or 2 tbsp instant coffee (as per your coffee intake)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 cup milk
  • Ice cubes

Method:

Add coffee, sugar and water in a bowl. Take an electric or normal beater and beat it until it becomes a frothy whitish mixture. In a glass, add milk and ice cubes. Now pour the coffee mixture on top of the milk. You can garnish it with cocoa powder or anything chocolaty. Your Dalgona Coffee is ready.

Honestly, I did not like the taste of this coffee. I made this coffee just to follow the trend and click a few aesthetic photos for my Instagram blog. Though countless people loved this coffee according to the reviews on social media. The key is to add right amount of ingredients. I also heard that this is an old coffee recipe and it started trending mostly because of this quarantine.

Now you can go back to making your normal every day coffee as you please. But wait right there! What if you start craving branded cold coffee? All cafes are closed and its summer time, you can’t possible enjoy hot coffee like you used to. Well this is what exactly happened with me.

How To Make Branded Cold Coffee At Home?

Ingredients:

  • 1 or 2 tbsp instant coffee (as per your coffee intake)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Half cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • Ice cubes

Method:

Pour cold milk in the grinder. Add coffee, a little sugar and some water in a cup. Mix for a few seconds. Then add this mixture in the grinder. Add ice cubes. Add chocolate bar or cocoa powder if you want (optional). Then grind all these ingredients for a few seconds. Your delicious cold coffee is ready. Pour it in a glass, add more ice cubes and enjoy drinking it slowly.
