Edhi – The Face of Welfare

Edhi’s mother instilled a deep sense of love and care for people that transitioned into a decade’s long war against poverty and cruelty against mankind. Founding the Edhi Foundation, Edhi took the resolve to help his fellow human beings by collecting donations and assembled a trust with the general public in receiving donations. Through it, he was successful in providing medical and basic facilities including the 24 hour ambulance service, shelter home, orphanages and several relief operations that belong solely to his credit. For his services, he has achieved many awards and recognitions, mainly the Nishan-e-Imtiaz which is the highest honor given to any civilian in Pakistan. The honor and respect that Abdul Sattar Edhi gained in hearts of millions is definitely his greatest achievement of all.
